About Rivertown Revival & Friends of The Petaluma River

 Heritage, High-jinks and A Hootenanny
Every July since 2010

Friends of the Petaluma River brings you the 12th Annual Rivertown Revival!

Ours is a festival to celebrate our town, community and the mighty Petaluma River. We will have live music, activities on the water, delicious local food and drink, wild and exotic breathtaking creatures, creative Sonoma County vendors, a large Play Area for kids and kids at heart, interactive art and more.

Every year we are dedicated to creating an unforgettable and eco-friendly event decorated with re-used, re-cycled and re-purposed materials as much as possible. We love to take trash and turn it into garbage ;-)

Please join us dressed as yourself or any zany, odd, beautiful, ugly or avant-garde character you see fit.  Your presence and undeniable creativity add to our event.

Beneficiary

Rivertown Revival is a Benefit for Friends of the Petaluma River (FOPR)

Friends of the Petaluma River

is a local non-profit dedicated to celebrating, conserving and educating the community about the Petaluma River and its watershed. Throughout the year FOPR hosts river cleanups, free boating programs, nature camps for kids, environmental education in the classroom, community celebrations and much more.

In 2014 FOPR implemented a Watershed Classroom Program which enables teachers throughout Petaluma City Schools to teach common core curriculum through the lens of our River and watershed.  Please stop by the FOPR tent at Rivertown Revival to learn more about us.

Producers

Rivertown Revival Branding

We’re lucky to have the outstanding talent of Tyler Young and the Idea Cooperative, a local Petaluma institution of branding, marketing and advertising as our Rivertown Revival brand creator!

Principal photography for our homepage and music sections by Michael Woolsey, infamous RR Photo Booth master!

The website is developed and maintained by Marty Ferrini, otherwise known as “Pants”.

Venue and Directions

The Rivertown Revival will take place on the McNear Peninsula, through the entrance of Steamer Landing Park, at D Street & Copeland St near the Petaluma River in beautiful Petaluma.

Lodging and Weekend Activities

We encourage out-of-town guests and bridal parties taking advantage of our fabulous wedding pavilion to stay in Petaluma.  For lodging, we encourage you to click over to the Visit Petaluma Lodging Page.

Sculpture Walk

Rivertown Revival features all kinds of art! Since the beginning of this event, we have invited Sonoma County’s sculptors to bring their large works to greet the public as they enter. Along the promenade and floating in the slough you'll be delighted by art in surprising places. All art is available for barter.

Eco-Consciousness: Water and Waste

Please bring your own drinking container (no glass allowed) to the Rivertown Revival, as we are dedicated to creating a low-impact event within our beautiful peninsula and river environment. There will be limited disposables available at the event, and you will notice ample recycling and composting bins throughout.

Please help us preserve the peninsula and keep our event waste-free.

Parking & Transit

Limited paid parking is available on site. We heartily encourage bicycling, walking, taking Petaluma Transit or the SMART Train to the Revival and will have FREE self serve bike parking (bring your own lock) on-site, however there is parking available in two garages in downtown Petaluma as well as plenty of parking spots.

Petaluma does not have parking meters anywhere!

Pets

We love animals, but our livestock and food vendors are wary. It's also quite hot in July, so please keep your dogs, cats, birds, and fish at home. (We’re ok with snakes as body art.)

Food and Beverage

A bounty of food vendors will be on site to tempt you with local goodies so save room for lunch, dinner, drinks, dessert and more while supporting your local purveyors.

Artisans

We’re choosing the most unique local vendors to display their crafts at the Revival. We encourage you to peruse the many wares that are available, including costumes, corsets, hats, masks, parasols, jewelry, art, face painting, toys, bags, purses and more!
