Welcome To Rivertown Revival Music!
Meet Our Music Team
Brian Way - performer liaison and artist check-in captain
BeeDub is a former rocker and man-about-town with ties to the Long Beach and San Francisco psychedelic music scenes. He has been running Artist Check-In at Rivertown Revival since 2011, and this year has taken on extra duties as on-line music coordinator. He'll probably be wearing a cowboy hat, overalls, and a walkie-talkie. Come say hi!
Rivertown Revival is not your average music festival. Electric guitars twang in the shade of an old barn, a magician astounds the crowd on a homemade converted truck stage, and traveling preachers testify in song beside the beautiful Petaluma River. Many events around Northern California present great music, but the Rivertown Revival aims to transport artist and audience alike into another world for one perfect summer day. Our 2017 schedule boasts many styles including Country, Latin, Hot Jazz, Vaudeville, Marching Band, and Bluegrass!
The Barn Stage
Transcendent folk from multi-instrumentalists Anita Sandwina & Velvy Appleton, as Spark & Whisper, who are pursuing transcendence—guiding and transporting the audience out of the mundane, into moments of higher consciousness and connection, and to an acknowledgement of our common humanity, our connected spirit.
The Revival Tent
Rainbow Girls is a collaborative of songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, vocalists, and California natives who've spent the last 5 years touring Europe and the US as a rock n' roll band, but who've recently returned to their folkier roots by embarking on a house concert tour across America. This new trio version of the band (Erin Chapin, Caitlin Gowdey, & Vanessa May) highlights their rich harmonies, ageless songwriting, and soulful, bluesy sound at its rawest form.
Kickin up a cocktail of folky-punky-bluesy swing, this raggedy crew of streetwise fashionistas is ready to serve up some poppin' grooves for your booty-shaking while their lyrical ponderings leave the head & heart aching! With a mobile musical menagerie of two to ten players and a set list spanning from Americana & European folk styles to progressive jazz and elevated hip hop, Buck-Thrifty acknowledges no limits in perusing the evolution of folk fusion.
The Spectacular Stage
Miss Moonshine is an alternative folk band based out of Petaluma, CA. What started as songwriter Cody Martin desiring to add other instrumentation to his songs, quickly turned into a greater ambition to create an album together. An eclectic grouping of instruments and influences gives the band a unique sound that reaches a wide array of audiences. Physical copies of Miss Moonshine's self titled, 12-track debut album was released July 29th, 2016. Digital Downloads are available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon etc.
Intuitive Compass is: the diverse talents of poet beatnik and guitar pioneer Jason O’Dea, taken together with old time circus freak and accordionist Aurelia Anne Cohen create a potent elixir of old-time flavors of ragtime, blues, jug band, western swing, gypsy jazz and most importantly, the tradition of folk music, mixed with vaudeville and proverbial three ring circus, frequently serving up fire, aerial acrobatics, and contortion, with an occasional splash of wild west thrown in for good measure.
Oddjob Ensemble is a consortium of multi-instrumentalists and specialists with powerful ancient melodies and sounds that twist the ear into a delicious musical pretzel, they touch upon many different cultural influences and find unusual but fascinating combinations of traditional styles, jazz and progressive music, exotic tonalities and of course, shenanigans.
The Rhino Stage
The Mountain & The Moon was formed during the spring of 2015 when bassist Noah Laniakea and banjoist Casey Holmberg met at UCLA. Both musicians shared a love for bluegrass and old-time music, and as they rehearsed and performed together they began to explore a larger musical space around that idiom. " What has emerged is a form of classically informed roots music – a blend of the string arrangements on Nico’s Chelsea Girl and the banjo playing of Béla Fleck, perhaps..." Freshgrass- 2016
